VHFCNBA 2023 Judicial Reception

The Virgil Hawkins Florida Chapter National Bar Association (VHFCNBA) hosted a Judicial Reception in honor of the Latimer-Hawkins Florida Judicial Council on Friday, November 17, 2023 in conjunction with the Judicial Council‘s Annual Meeting and VHFCNBA’s Second Quarterly Meeting. The reception was held in the atrium of Florida A&M University College of Law .
The Latimer-Hawkins Judicial Council was founded in 2001 and serves as the judicial arm of VHFCNBA. The Council consists of the Black judiciary of the state of Florida and maintains a “commitment to the improvement of the law, the legal system and the administration of justice.” Black judges make up less than 5% of Florida’s judiciary, and this reception provided us an opportunity to thank them for their part in diversifying our courtrooms.
