Fellowship Pro Bono Program

VHFCNBA seeks to continue the mission of ensuring access to the justice system for the underprivileged and disadvantaged of our communities. To ensure members of these communities receive the representation they deserve we launched our Fellowship Pro Bono Program in 2013 to provide free legal services.

Our Fellowship Pro Bono Program is a joint venture between VHFCNBA, the FAMU College of Law, The Florida Legislature and Florida’s Attorney General’s Office. Our attorneys advocate and provide services to indigent clients in the areas of divorce, paternity, custody, modification, guardianship, child support, domestic violence, eviction, foreclosures, security deposit disputes, and landlord tenant rights and responsibilities. These cases vary in complexity and often includes highly contested cases with multiple issues.

Over the course of the past 9 years, our Fellowship Pro Bono Program has been able to provide services to over 150 individuals. The attorneys who work with the program have provided more than 6,700 hours of pro bono service since the program’s inception.
